The Allotment and Assimilation Era is when the federal government shifted strategy. The Reservation System confined Indigenous peoples within shrinking borders. The Allotment Era went further - it broke up the land itself and targeted the cultural foundations of Tribal life. Boarding schools. Forced assimilation. 90 million acres transferred out of Tribal ownership.
In this unit, you'll build a research website about the Allotment Era. The new CSS pattern is the large-number statistical callout - a component that displays a number at display scale so it stops a reader in their tracks. 90 million acres. 408 schools. 47 years. Numbers like these need to be seen, not buried in a paragraph.
You'll document which nations in your region were most affected, which ones resisted allotment, and what the land looked like before and after. Red Lake Nation never accepted allotment. That story is in this unit.

Stage 3 is where they understand the function's three arguments and use it deliberately to make the numbers resize responsively. Students already know that font sizes can be set in rem and vw. clamp() lets them set a minimum, a preferred viewport-responsive value, and a maximum, all in one declaration.
